My story

I have always had an outlet for art all my life, whether remodeling houses or as an organic market farmer with my husband in Texas, photographing our life on the farm for our customer newsletter.

However, a few years ago we decided we needed a big break from that very labor-intensive work and purchased a Winnebago for a time of rest. I knew I didn’t want to farm on that scale any longer but really didn’t know what was next.

It was a new season…and I needed a new passion.

During that season, I purchased a set of watercolors for my mother. While encouraging her to use them, I inadvertently fell in love with them myself!

I didn’t despise my lack of beginning talent, but just continued to have an attitude of “play” and persevered. The more I played, the more my style emerged and eventually I moved into using gouache as well. Most recently, I started dabbling in acrylics, loving what each medium evokes, whether it be on canvas or paper, ceramics or wood.

As you can see by my artwork, I love and delight in nature and flowers and use many soft earth tones to create peaceful, contemplative scenes that display the beauty of our natural world. I love art that evokes a feeling…especially of peace and beauty.
